On 1 September 2026, the ARIVE consortium held an in-person meeting in Tbilisi, Georgia, bringing partner institutions together to review progress and coordinate the next stage of project implementation.
The meeting took place after the successful completion of the first six months of ARIVE activities. During this initial period, the consortium established the project’s main foundations, including coordination structures, trainee generation planning, the Virtual Research Semester curriculum, dissemination tools, and the project website and social media platforms.
The Tbilisi meeting focused on moving from preparation toward active implementation. Partners discussed planned online trainings and courses, including their thematic focus, target groups, formats, timelines and institutional responsibilities. These discussions will help ensure that ARIVE’s learning activities are coordinated, realistic and aligned with the project’s wider aim of strengthening research education through virtual exchange.
Dissemination and visibility were also discussed. Partners reflected on how ARIVE can continue to communicate its activities clearly through the project website, social media channels, institutional announcements, newsletters, events and other public-facing formats.
Another important part of the meeting was the further development of ARIVE’s governance structure, including the establishment of the Steering Committee and the ARIVE Academic Board / Curriculum Committee. These bodies will support strategic coordination, academic planning and curriculum-related decision-making during the next phases of the project.
The meeting provided a valuable opportunity for partners to exchange ideas, clarify responsibilities and align their contributions. It marked an important step in preparing ARIVE for wider implementation, stronger public visibility and future engagement of learners and academic communities across borders.
Further updates on ARIVE activities, training opportunities and project developments will be shared through the project website and social media channels.
