Another self-paced online course, Research Methods: From Research Question to Defensible Study Design is available.
The course guides learners through the main stages of research planning - from identifying a research problem and formulating a focused question to choosing an appropriate methodological approach, study design, sampling strategy, data-collection methods and analysis plan.
It also addresses key aspects of responsible research, including bias, research ethics, data protection, Open Science, FAIR principles and responsible use of AI.
Learners progressively apply the course content through a Research Design Workbook and conclude by developing and self-assessing a Mini Research Protocol.
The course is designed for undergraduate and graduate students, doctoral researchers and early-career researchers and will support research-capacity development across the ARIVE community.
